Hearing Healthcare of Virginia announces the creation of the Hearing Hospice Program of Virginia, in cooperation with Southern Care Hospice and Hospice of the Piedmont.
Through the Hearing Hospice Program, staff at Hearing Healthcare of Virginia will donate their services to test and fit loaner hearing devices for any patient in hospice care and referred by Southern Care Hospice and Hospice of the Piedmont.
The purpose of this new program is to improve communication between a hospice patient and others, including spouse/partner, family members, friends, and healthcare professionals providing hospice and/or medical services to the patient. Often a hearing loss prevents the enjoyment of conversations or listening to music during this phase of life. In addition, some medical treatments, including chemotherapy, can decrease a patients hearing.
At Hearing Healthcare of Virginia, it is our desire to give back to our community by helping hospice patients identified with a hearing loss.
Hearing Healthcare of Virginia is seeking donations of hearing devices for this program. Often our patients’ families ask what they can do with a deceased loved one’s hearing devices or someone who has upgraded to a new set of devices. By making a donation to this wonderful and caring program, you can help another person in need by finding further use of your older hearing aids.
