Last week, from July 22-24, 34 campers were at Augusta Health to learn about healthcare careers.
ACES stands for Augusta Health Career Explorers. The campers were sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders from schools in Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County.
They learn by completing hands-on activities with hospital staff from many departments — Radiology, Community Wellness, Nursing, Rehab, Laboratory, Nutrition and Pharmacy — and had a special session on organ donation with Lifenet.
Morning campers were: Jasmyn Botkin, Chloe Breeding, Sarah Brown, Haley Colvin, Marigrace Grow, Arianna Hoover, Jordan Johnson, Marina Johnson, Lyric Judy, Destiny Lam, Madeline Martin, Jared McCormick, Lizzie McMakin, Faith Shirley, Natalie Stevens and Helen Zak.
Afternoon campers were: Aricca Biggs, Christina Bolton, Hannah Doty, Riley Gildea, Lauren Hersh, Jenna Hess, Emma Huffman, Ashley Humphries, Hailey Johnson, Miyah McClure, Ally Pananas, Brandon Propst, Jacob Sipe, Jack Terry, Jonathan Wangler, Kendra Washington, Tai May White and Taia Wetzel.
