Fifteenth-ranked Virginia was held scoreless after getting a tying goal in the first quarter on the way to a 4-1 loss at Boston College on Friday.

BC (5-7, 1-3 ACC) got on the board a minute into the match, on a goal by Laila Rosenquest.

Virginia’s Isabella Moore scored unassisted at the 8:42 mark to tie the score at 1-1.

But that would be it for the day for the ‘Hoos (6-5, 2-4 ACC).

The Eagles took the lead for good later in the first quarter on a goal from Ava Meehan, then added two goals in the fourth – from Madelieve Drion and Maren Boyle.

“Right now, we are finding too many ways to lose a game and not enough ways to win them,” Virginia coach Ole Keusgen said. “We need to convert the chances that we have and play forward with more desire. Right now, we are not playing good enough to earn a win.”
