Field Hockey: #11 Virginia falls in overtime to unranked Cal, losing 2-1

Fourth-year goalkeeper Nilou Lempers posted a career-high 15 saves, but it was not enough for #11 Virginia, dropped a 2-1 decision to Cal in OT on Sunday.

The ‘Hoos (6-4, 2-3 ACC) got on the board first, at the 5:14 mark, on a goal by Mia Abello that was assisted by Rylee Dennis.

Cal (7-3, 1-2 ACC) tied the score in the third on a goal by Josefina Moyano, assisted by Adya Kadam.

The OT goal came 50 seconds into the extra period, on a corner from Liz Klompmaker.
