Meatball: Little big man

He’s billed as “The World’s Biggest Midget,” and if he’s not, well, you’d hate to see the bigger little guy.

“Basically, I’m the Andre the Giant of midget wrestling,” said Meatball, the 292-pound behemoth who currently holds the Micro Championship Wrestling world title.

That’s Micro Championship Wrestling – as in “Hulk Hogan’s Micro Championship Wrestling,” the promotion that got a boost from a season of episodes of a reality show on basic cable’s TruTV.

As the champion of the troupe of wrestlers who make up MCW, Meatball carries a mighty weight on his broad shoulders.

Everywhere we go, people are like, Hey, you’re on TV. And then we always get that same old question. When are you guys coming back for season two?” said Meatball, who answers, “Patience.”

Season two is reportedly in the works, but before it can get under way, there’s a matter of important business for Meatball at New Year’s Chaos, a pro-wrestling event being staged by Top Rope Pro Wrestling at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, va.

At Chaos, Meatball will defend his title against babyface fan favorite Short Sleeve Sampson. Meatball used a recent interview to send a chilly message to Sampson about the match.

“If he thinks he’s going to take that title from me, he’s got another thing coming,” Meatball said.
