Ethan Anderson, a 2024 second-round pick of the Baltimore Orioles, after a solid three years with the UVA Baseball program, was promoted to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

In his first game with the Tides, Anderson, playing first base, was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.

The Tides are wrapping up their 2026 season this week at Harbor Park with a series against the Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.

Anderson earned the promotion after putting up big numbers at Double-A Chesapeake, hitting 21 homers in 82 games, with a .271/.363/.518 slash line, and an .881 OPS.

He obviously adapted well after hitting just four homers in his first full season in MiLB, in 2025, with a .248/.338/.339 slash line, and a .677 OPS.

The call-up gives Anderson a homecoming, of sorts – he is a graduate of Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach.
