The early Vegas odds has UVA Football listed as a 43.5-point favorite over Norfolk State Friday night, which, seems fair.
I don’t see the score getting run up too much, just because I anticipate that the game plan from offensive coordinator Des Kitchings will emphasize ground and pound, which will keep the score within some sense of reason.
Kitchings called 54 runs on the 68 offensive snaps in the 34-8 win over NC State in Week 0; of the 14 dropbacks, QB Beau Pribula scrambled twice, and was sacked once, so, officially, there were 57 rushing attempts on the final box score.
If he’s going 80-plus percent run against an ACC program projected to win eight or nine games, he’s going to go run-heavy against an FCS team that won one game in 2025.
I can see a final score in the 48-7 range on Friday night.
