Staunton man in custody in stabbing that killed one, sent a second victim to the hospital

A Staunton man is in custody on second-degree murder charges from an early-morning incident on Orchard Avenue.

Freddi Chigo Mil, 32, of Staunton, faces the murder charge and a second charge for malicious wounding in the incident, reported around 4 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Orchard Avenue.

A release from the Staunton Police Department tells us that a 911 open-line call led officers to the location.

There were two female victims who had been stabbed, per the report.

One was pronounced dead at the scene; the second was transported to the UVA Medical Center and is in stable condition.

Chigo Mil is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
