Tens of thousands of women and girls in Nepal are trafficked into the sex trade every year, according to activist David Radcliff, a 1975 alum of Bridgewater College, who will speak on the topic of “Trafficking: Suffering and Surviving” at his alma mater on Wednesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. in the Carter Center for Worship and Music.
Radcliff’s nonprofit organization, New Community Project, works to support education and empowerment for women and girls around the world.
His talk will explore why trafficking happens, how it traumatizes young women and how victims become survivors as they put their lives back together.
Radcliff was awarded BC’s West-Whitelow Humanitarian Service Award in 2008. He also holds graduate degrees from Bethany Theological Seminary.
