Fauquier County: Virginia woman dead following fatal single-vehicle crash

A 36-year-old Virginia woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Fauquier County.

Kristin L. Gheen, of Sumerduck, died at the scene. The crash occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Route 17, according to Virginia State Police.

Gheen was driving northbound in a Kia Forte on Route 17 near Dyes Lane when the Forte went off of the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Gheen was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
