Once on location, in the 200 block of 3rd St NE, officers located a gunshot wound victim, and immediately began to render aid to the victim while also trying to secure the crime scene from a large crowd of people.

The victim, a 25-year-old male, was transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where he remains at this time in critical condition.

At the scene, 30 cartridge casings were located, along with an unoccupied building and three vehicles that were struck by gunfire.

  • 200-400 block of E Market St
  • 100-300 block of 3rd St NE
