Breona Hurd scored 16 points to pace three Virginia players in double-figures as the Cavaliers picked up another ACC road win, 63-51 at SMU, on Thursday night in Dallas.
A solid defensive effort in the second quarter fueled the win. UVA (15-14, 7-10 ACC) held SMU (10-19, 2-15 ACC) to four points on 1-of-14 shooting in the quarter as the ‘Hoos opened up a 29-18 lead at the break.
Virginia led by as many as 16 in the third quarter, but the Mustangs did make it interesting in the fourth, twice getting the deficit to six before a 13-5 run over a four and a half minute stretch put the game away.
Latasha Lattimore had 15 points, Paris Clark added 13, and Kymora Johnson filled up the stat sheet with 11 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.
UVA closes out the 2024-2025 regular season on Sunday at #8 North Carolina.
