Unique March 25 event in Shenandoah County

B&Bs, inns and river lodges have partnered with local artisan and agriculture producers for an unique event Sunday, March 25, from noon–5 p.m. This free event showcases unique places to stay, along with the arts and local agriculture of Shenandoah County.

The event showcases 13 unique lodging places in Shenandoah County. Historic buildings and relaxing properties that sit along the beautiful Shenandoah River will be open for tours. Artisans will be onsite with pottery demonstrations, paintings, and even blacksmithing.  Local agriculture producers will be on hand promoting their products and availability.

Nurseries will have garden talk demonstrations and special event partners, such as The Yellow Barn at Shenandoah Caverns, the Edinburg Mill, and Posey Thisisit Llama Farm will be open for the day. The Yellow Barn will feature their bee colony; the Edinburg Mill antique tractors; and both Fort Valley Nursery and the Natural Art and Garden Center will have garden talks.

There is no specific route for the tours. Simply choose the lodging locations you would like to visit. Tour participants will receive a map and a sticker to wear to indicate they are part of the tour upon arriving at their first lodging visit. A flyer of participating sites is available at www.shenandoahtravel.org.

The event is sponsored by Shenandoah Caverns, Virginia Living Magazine, and ILoveInns.com.
