Our weekly AEW week-in-review podcast had us working overtime this week, with the company coming off the “Worlds End” pay-per-view, and working toward this weekend’s “Wrestle Dynasty” show in Japan.

In between, we had the debut of “Dynamite” on streaming, with the weekly show emanating from Asheville, the hometown of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, which was ravaged by the remnants of Hurricane Helene a few months ago.

This week’s podcast has our resident AEW beat writer, Ray Petree, joining me to try to get a handle on all of this.

Among the topics

  • Where things stand with the AEW World Title picture, with champ Jon Moxley successfully defending his belt at “World’s End,” and being set up for a program with Adam Copeland after this week’s “Dynamite.”
  • The Kazuchika Okada-Will Ospreay match at “Worlds End” was a 2024 Match of the Year candidate.
  • How long can Tony Khan hold off on having Okada face Kenny Omega for the first time in the U.S.?
  • Interesting developments with Ricochet engaging former AEW champ Swerve Strickland in what promises to be a hot feud, and the pending breakup of former AEW tag champs The Acclaimed, Anthony Bowens and Max Caster.
  • Jeff Jarrett appears to be gearing up for a final ride in 2025.
  • Looking ahead to “Wrestle Dynasty” matchups between Konosuke Takeshita and Shingo Takagi, and Ricochet facing Zack Sabre Jr.
