Michael Diatta, who was in on 311 snaps for UVA Football at defensive tackle as a redshirt junior in 2024, will be putting his name in the transfer portal next week.

Diatta (one sack, five QB pressures, 29 tackles in the run game, 62.4 Pro Football Focus grade) is among the six Cavaliers to signal their intent to hit the portal when it formally opens on Monday, Dec. 9.

We already knew about the starting QB, Anthony Colandrea.

The other four:

  • Offensive lineman Charlie Patterson (redshirt junior, 59 snaps in 2024)
  • Defensive end DJ Jones (redshirt freshman, no snaps)
  • Wideout Jaden Gibson (sophomore 10 catches/12 targets, 91 yards in 2024)
  • Cornerback Malcolm Greene (fifth-year, 82 snaps in 2024)
