Thirteen members visited the Valley Brethren-Mennonite Heritage Center, which is a short five-minute drive from our senior center, on Oct. 6.
Everyone learned from a video of Brethren and Mennonite life and toured the 1854 Burkholder-Myers home, the wash house, the blacksmith shop, and the 1904 WhitmerSchool which also served as a church before being moved from Mathias.
It was an interesting day thanks to the friendly volunteers and offered a great view of Harrisonburg!
