Democratic Party attorney-general nomination candidate Steve Shannon has outraised his two potential Republican challengers combined at this early stage in the 2009 campaign.

Shannon had raised $297,923 for his campaign as of June 30, according to a report filed with the State Board of Elections this week. Shannon, a Northern Virginia state delegate, has $449,178 cash on hand with the addition of money left over from his most recent legislative campaign.

Republican State Sen. Ken Cuccinelli had raised $129,612 for his attorney-general campaign as of June 30, according to a report he filed with the State Board of Elections this week. Cuccinelli had a balance of $111,210 in his AG campaign account and a balance of $4,227 in his Senate campaign account, according to a review of the two reports.

Former U.S. attorney John Brownlee had raised $103,598 for his campaign and reported spending of $29,780 as of June 30. Brownlee, who is challenging Cuccinelli for the GOP nomination, reported a cash on hand balance of $73,818.
