Linda Hines named CEO of Virginia Premier Health Plan

healthcareFollowing a national search, Linda Hines has been named CEO of Virginia Premier Health Plan, effective immediately.

Hines’ distinguished career began more than 20 years ago as a bedside nurse and a nurse manager. She rose through the ranks of management and leadership within Virginia Premier Health Plan, culminating with her promotion to Virginia Premier’s chief operating officer.

“Linda’s exemplary service throughout her career at Virginia Premier has been remarkable,” said Carl Gattuso, interim CEO of Virginia Premier Health Plan, in a statement to the Virginia Premier team. “We are familiar with the breadth of Linda’s knowledge, her leadership and work ethic, as well as her commitment and passion for our members and employees. I look forward to witnessing the continued success and accomplishments that Virginia Premier will achieve with Linda at the helm.”

In her current role, Hines has been responsible for business line and strategic plan execution and overall management of the leadership team to ensure that Virginia Premier delivers exemplary customer service, while maintaining a strong culture of quality and innovation. Hines’ accomplishments with Virginia Premier include improved claims operations, reporting procedures and internal systems. She introduced new lines of business including the Financial Alignment Demonstration and Dual-Special Needs Plan, and established new operating standards governing health promotion, admissions and treatment of enrollees.

“I am delighted with the opportunity to continue to lead this distinguished organization to new and continued success,” Hines said. “I look forward to working with our community partners to improve the health outcomes of the citizens of the commonwealth.”

Hines is a licensed registered nurse in Virginia and holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a master’s degree in nursing administration and an executive MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. She serves on several committees and has affiliations with organizations such as the VCU Health System Institute of Women’s Health Professionals and the Virginia State Board of Health.
