Interested parties must complete an application and register by Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, and space is limited.  The cost to attend is $70 for up to two family members (additional family members may attend for $35 a person), which includes dinner both nights as well as a copy of the award-winning “Ties to the Land: Your Family Forest Heritage”.   The online application is available at tiny.cc.vagennext.

“Focusing on Land Transfer to Generation ‘Next’” is the title of the short course that runs from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5th and Wednesday, Oct. 12th.

Adam Downing of Virginia Cooperative Extension said, “This hands-on workshop will include free legal advice from professionals experienced in intergenerational land transfer as well as landowner testimonials of estate planning steps and strategies they have used.  By attending the short course, you can ensure your wishes are met and you’ll minimize the cost of professional advisers.”

For more information, please contact the Northern District Forestry and Natural Resources Extension Program at 540.948.6881 or email Adam Downing at [email protected] .
