#WhyIWalk: In memory of my daughter

Leading up to the 2016 Greater Augusta Out of the Darkness Walk in Staunton, Augusta Free Press shares #WhyIWalk profiles of local people and why they are choosing to walk on October 8.

Register for free to walk or learn more at bit.ly/2awG5aT.

#whyiwalkI walk in memory of my daughter Keri, who struggled with depression and anxiety for years and she chose to take her life at 22.

What a shame that at that age or any age someone can feel so low as to think people would be better off without them.

I walk for myself, as I have struggled with depression for years and with the loss of my beautiful daughter that has magnified my struggles.

By the grace of God and my husband I am here to walk for such a great cause.
