#7 Louisville defeats #15 Notre Dame, 75-53, in ACC Tournament

bear creek 2019 ACC Tournament#7 seed Louisville made short work of #15 seed Notre Dame, winning 75-53 in the second round of the 2019 ACC Tournament on Wednesday.

Louisville (20-12) advances to the tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, to face #2 seed North Carolina (26-5).

The Cardinals used a 19-2 first-half run to open a 16-point lead, and carried a 34-25 edge into the halftime break, holding Notre Dame to 21.2 percent shooting (7-of-33).

The Fighting Irish briefly got the margin to seven early in the second half before Louisville asserted control, most notably in a 2:53 barrage by Ryan McMahon, who hit a trio of threes, made three free throws and assisted on a dunk to fuel a 14-5 run.

Jordan Nwora scored the first 12 points of the game for UL, and finished with 24, along with nine rebounds.

T.J. Gibbs had 21 points for Notre Dame (14-19).
