#1 UVA wins big at Boston College, 83-56

UVA basketballBoston College, credit to them, hung around, trailed top-ranked UVA 48-41 inside of 15 minutes left. But then came the Cavalanche.

A 16-0 ‘Hoos run broke open a game that actually never felt like it was close, in what turned into an 83-56 Virginia win in Chestnut Hill on Wednesday.

The Cavaliers (14-0, 2-0 ACC) led 43-31 at the half, and, no, that didn’t feel good, with BC (9-5, 0-2 ACC) shooting 44.8 percent (13-of-29) in the first half.

And, again, credit to the Eagles, they stayed within hailing distance for a few minutes into the second half.

Braxton Key had nine points on 4-of-5 shooting in 27 minutes off the bench, another solid outing for the junior off the bench.

Virginia shot a cool 60 percent (33-of-55) from the floor, and outrebounded BC 41-21.
