Several candidates, mostly self-styled Tea Party Republicans, are attacking GOP leaders for supporting Governor Bob McDonnell’s transportation funding plan enacted this year. Don’t listen to them.

Fishburne Military School soccer standout Michael Blackburn signed his letter of intent to continue his athletic career at Potomac State College on Monday. And that’s not even close to the most interesting thing that you can know about Blackburn, who spent his formative years in a Kazakhstan orphanage where he picked up soccer and a sense of determination that should inspire anybody reading this story.

The Virginia Commonwealth University Board of Visitors today approved a 2013-2014 budget that includes a tuition increase, a new market-based tuition pricing structure for incoming students and significant measures to cut costs and reallocate savings to the university’s core academic mission.

Gov. Bob McDonnell announced today the recipients of fiscal year 2013 planning grants from the Governor’s Agriculture & Forestry Industries Development Fund (AFID). Eleven projects covering more than thirty localities have been awarded a total of $249,000 to support the growth of agricultural and forestry projects in the Commonwealth.

For less than that $17.25 million, American’s can easily and effectively reduce not only murders, but also rapes, robberies and other violent crimes quickly, significantly, and effectively, while saving ourselves a few billion dollars in the process.
