VMI baseball has announced 13 early commitments for its Class of 2018, according to information released by the program Monday, Jan. 13. The group includes 11 players from Virginia, who are joined by one each from Florida and West Virginia.

United Way of Greater Augusta received notification that Staunton City was awarded $5,173, to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the Greater Augusta region. An approaching winter storm is projected to bring Virginia snow to the west and two to four inches of rain in Richmond and surrounding areas today and tomorrow, likely creating havoc for holiday travelers.
