This week, we in the House continued to address two of the most urgent priorities I hear about from Fifth District Virginians.

Delegates Sam Rasoul (D-Roanoke) and Patrick Hope (D-Arlington) have introduced the Virginia Healthy Transitions Program to increase access to health care for nearly 400,000 Virginians.

U.S. Sens. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) and Tim Kaine (D-VA) today led a bipartisan group of six Senate colleagues in introducing The Startup Act to jumpstart investment and job creation by new businesses.

It is my hope that our colleagues in the Senate will take up the good bills coming out of the House and join us in advancing policies to build a stronger America for our children and grandchildren.

Delegate Nick Rush (R-Montgomery) introduced legislation Monday to make college more affordable for students pursuing degrees in high-demand fields.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Friday that Nulife Glass will invest $5.9 million to establish its first Virginia operation in the City of Bristol. A Manchester, England-based company, Nulife provides a complete and sustainable recycling service for all types of cathode ray tube (CRT) glass.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today a series of legislative proposals aimed at enhancing employment and educational opportunities for Virginia veterans as part of his ongoing effort to build a new Virginia economy.

Congressman Robert Hurt (R-Virginia) voted in favor of two bills that Republicans are touting as protecting American workers from President Obama’s healthcare law.

As this year comes to a close, so too does the 113th Congress. I believe that we as a country have much to look forward to as a new year and a new 114th Congress begin.
We don’t take press releases or official statements as the final word. Digging in to get the whole story takes time and resources.
