Bob Latta (R-OH) have introduced legislation to award the Congressional Gold Medal to the members of the Office of Strategic Services, the World War II-era predecessor to today’s Central Intelligence Agency and the U.S. Special Operations Command, “in recognition of their superior service and major contributions during World War II.”

Warner (D-VA) and seven of his colleagues on the Senate Banking Committee urged two newly-named nominees for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to improve transparency in the U.S. political process by supporting a requirement for publicly-held companies to disclose their political spending to shareholders.

Mark Warner and Tim Kaine (both D-VA) today pressed the Securities and Exchange Commission to require public companies to disclose political spending to their shareholders, a move that would increase transparency in the U.S. political process following the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United decision that unleashed unlimited corporate spending into American elections.
