Back in the ‘70s, Ed Rogerville would have been on enemy territory at Fishburne Military School. A 1976 graduate of Augusta Military Academy, Rogerville wouldn’t have guessed back then that he would be walking the grounds of the one military school in Augusta County that would survive the decade.

Republicans in the Virginia House of Delegates pre-filed the first legislation of the 2016 General Assembly session Monday, laying the foundation for a strong policy agenda on transportation, energy, education and the economy. Monday is the first day Delegates and Senators can file legislation for the 2016 session.

Valley Alliance for Education marks 25 years

October marks the 25th anniversary of the Valley Alliance for Education (VAE). The all-volunteer, non-profit, community organization was formed in October 1990 for the purpose of promoting excellence in public school education in Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro. VAE essentially builds partnerships between educators, the community at large, and businesses to promote initiatives benefiting local area students in their classrooms.
