Stop me if you’re heard this one before from UVA football coach Mike London. “That’s a good football team, but at the same time we didn’t finish the game like we showed we could last week. It was disappointing to finish the way we did. We’ve got to improve in a lot of areas. We’ve got to continue to do that.” This was London after the 26-13 loss to UNC on Saturday.

VMI football: Keydets top Mercer, 28-21, break 30-game road losing streak

Junior Aaron Sanders set a new VMI record for catches in a game and the Keydet defense posted a game-deciding stop in the final minutes as the VMI Keydets defeated the Mercer Bears, 28-21, in SoCon football action Saturday in Macon, Ga. With the win, VMI broke a 30-game road losing streak that had dated to Oct. 23, 2010.
