The Virginia Department of Transportation has closed part of Route 733 (Moffett Branch Road) in Augusta County, after an inspection this week revealed additional deterioration to the bridge over Elk Run. The location is about 0.6-mile north of Route 734 (Hupman Road) near Churchville.
During the overnight hours light snow is predicted to fall in the Valley region ranging from a dusting to a possible three inches. VDOT watch crews will be on duty during the night hours throughout the Staunton District to begin plowing and treating roads as needed once the snow begins to fall.
