A portion of Route 602 (Walkers Creek Road) in Rockbridge County will be closed for bridge work at a tributary to Walkers Creek. The closure begins on October 29 at 8 a.m. and lasts until November 9 at 5 p.m.

Shenandoah National Park managers will temporarily close the trails leading to Jones Mountain Cabin to all hiking and backcountry use during the final phase of operations associated with the restoration of the historic cabin.

More students could incorporate international experiences into their college years if money were available to support their study abroad aspirations.

The following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week.

The following is a list of highway work that may affect traffic in the Staunton District during the coming weeks. The Staunton District consists of 11 counties from the Alleghany Highlands to the northern Shenandoah Valley.

The on-ramp and off-ramp between northbound Interstate 81 and Route 262 at exit 220 in Augusta County are scheduled for overnight closures and detours during the week of Oct. 21-25.
