R’Quis Jones and Diamond Owens are in custody at the Charlottesville/Albemarle Regional Jail, after turning themselves in this evening.

The Charlottesville City Council has selected Michael C. Rogers to be interim city manager, effective Jan. 31.

About that executive order from Gov. Glenn Youngkin declaring that parents can now make decisions on whether their child wears a mask in school: it’s not state law, and the school divisions in Albemarle County and Charlottesville are going to continue to follow state law.

City of Charlottesville government offices will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. CAT will begin service at 9 a.m.

Charlottesville City Code requires that property owners remove snow from sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of snowfall.

As a result of snowfall and wintry precipitation across the region, some City of Charlottesville public services have been affected.

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission has been awarded $250,000 for a project with the Piedmont Housing Alliance to serve the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County through rent assistance, stabilization services and court navigation.

Due to resource capacity issues, the City of Charlottesville service contractor for trash/recycling will be unable to provide make-up recycling collection for those impacted by the suspension in service that occurred the week of Jan. 3rd.
