We got to this point by the Republican majority in the General Assembly refusing to pass a plan for Medicaid expansion that would bring more than $5 million dollars a day to the state, produce as many as 30,000 new jobs in the health care industry, insure as many as 400,000 of the working poor, and enhance the quality of life for Virginia’s workforce and their families.

Howell, Norment intend to reconvene House, Senate in September

Virginia House of Delegates Speaker William J. Howell (R-Stafford) announced Wednesday that he intends to reconvene the House of Delegates the week of September 22 to debate Medicaid expansion. Senate Majority Leader Thomas K. Norment, Jr. (R-James City) announced that the Senate will be also be in session that week.
