Women’s Lacrosse: #8 Virginia rolls past Cal, 17-7

UVA women’s lacrosseEighth-ranked Virginia got goals from nine different players in a 17-7 win at Cal on Sunday.

Ashlyn McGovern (Phoenix, Md.) led the Cavaliers (3-0) with four goals. Sammy Mueller (Pelham, N.Y.) had three goals with two assists to lead the UVA attack with five points.

Courtlynne Caskin (Potomac, Md.) had a team-high five draw controls and added two goals.

The ‘Hoos led 7-4 at the break, then opened the second half on a 6-0 run, getting two goals each from McGovern and Caskin to jump out to a 13-4 advantage.
