West Virginia man faces multiple charges in Interstate 81 road-rage incident

A West Virginia man is in custody in connection with a road-rage incident reported on Interstate 81 last week.

Roger T. Chason, 35, of Summit Point, W.Va., was arrested in Jefferson County on Tuesday on warrants from the Virginia State Police in connection with the June 18 incident.

According to VSP, Chason, driving a Ford 150 with West Virginia plates, fired one shot at a Jeep Wagoneer while both vehicles were on I-81 near the 264 mile marker.

There were no injuries reported in the incident.

Chason faces charges of felony attempted malicious wounding, shooting from a vehicle, and shooting at an occupied vehicle.

He also faces a misdemeanor brandishing charge.

Chason is currently being held in West Virginia pending extradition to Virginia.
