
We had another fatal accident involving a motorcycle on the Blue Ridge Parkway Friday night.
This one was in the vicinity of Milepost 126 in the Roanoke County area.
Per the National Park Service, a motorcycle being driven by William Greer, 44, of Boones Mill, was traveling northbound at 8:30 p.m. when he struck a car turning left into an overlook.
Greer was declared dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the turning car sustained minor injuries.
According to data from the NPS, there are in the range of 250 accidents involving motorcycles each year on the Blue Ridge Parkway, more than half resulting in serious injuries.
