Two VMI baseball players named Summer Collegiate All-Americans

Chris Graham

vmi_logo2Two VMI pitchers, Taylor Edens and Jack Gomersall, have been named Perfect Game Summer Collegiate All-Americans. Edens was a First Team selection and Gomersall a Third Team choice.

Edens, who was chosen as a starting pitcher, went 9-1 with a 2.06 ERA pitching for the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plain League. He made six starts among his 11 outings and held opponents to a .236 batting average.

Gomersall, meanwhile, allowed just two earned runs in 41 innings as a starter for the Vienna Riverdogs of the Cal Ripken League. That was good for an 0.43 ERA that led to a record of 6-1.
