The Harrisonburg-based Tactical & Survival Specialties Inc. has announced the appointment of Craig S. Boyers as chief financial officer. Most recently, Boyers served as president and owner of C. S. Boyers PC, a CPA firm providing tax, accounting, business advisory and management consulting services.

Boyers brings over 17 years experience in financial and operations management in the technology sector. Mr. Boyers is a certified public accountant and has received various certifications including a Microsoft Business Solutions Certified Master, a Microsoft Certified Professional, and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Reporting to Jim Punelli, chief operating officer of TSSI, Boyers will assume responsibility for the company’s finance department, and succeeds Dan Fraser, who is making a lateral move to oversee TSSI’s Government Contracts Division.

“Craig brings the expertise and track record of a successful CFO, along with the hands on business experience of a seasoned business consultant, ” Punelli said. “His combination of skills will be an important addition to TSSI’s executive management team.”

Coinciding with the start of the new CFO, TSSI has announced the appointment of Dan Fraser to head a new division focused on managing government contracts. The Government Contracts Division will oversee the company’s numerous major federal government contracts. In 2008, Dan was instrumental in capturing the Prime Vendor contract, Tailored Logistics Support (TLS) Program with the Defense Logistics Agency-Philadelphia (DLA).

Fraser has been with TSSI in the role of CFO for the past five years.
