Virginia Tech held Mount St. Mary’s to 11 points in the first half and 17 percent shooting for the game en route to an easy 99-34 victory Sunday.
Erick Green led five Hokies in double figures with 17 points. Jeff Allen had 14 points and 12 rebounds for Tech (9-4, 0-1 ACC), which shot 69.2 percent from the floor.
“I watched Mount St. Mary’s on film and Penn State had to make a buzzer shot to beat them. So, I didn’t expect this, but we made shots,” coach Seth Greenberg said.
Mount St. Mary’s (3-12) got 16 points from Lamar Trice.
