Staunton Bright Rewired participants announced

stn creative comm fundThe Bright Rewired Advisory Committee have selected the eleven participants for the Bright Rewire business plan competition. Each participant will be obliged to attend the eight week business planning course offered by the Staunton Creative Community Fund (SCCF).

“The classes are designed to incorporate the expertise of local practitioners,” says Christina Cain, Director of the SCCF. “They address the business plan development with interactive study of business concept development, legal structure, marketing and research, pricing and cash flow.” The business plan course will begin on Wednesday, April 1 through Thursday, May 21.

The Bright Rewire business plan competition will provide education, funding, mentorship and support to those entrepreneurs wishing to open a new business with a physical location in the Downtown or Newtown districts of Staunton. Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded.

Applicants were selected on the strength of their business concept, potential to create new jobs and to open by September 30, 2015.

Applicants will be required to present their idea at a Public Pitch Night on May 21, submit their business plan on May 27 and attend the Bright Rewired Awards on June 17.
