The Virginia State Police would like to thank the media and the public for the coverage and tips generated in this ongoing investigation. Police investigators are still  asking for anyone who might recall seeing a white, male pedestrian wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans in the area of the Route 29 truck stop near Ruckersville between the hours of 1 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Tuesday to please call the Virginia State Police at 434-352-7128 or #77 on a cell phone.

Investigators are also asking anyone who might have witnessed the hit-and-run or knows of a passenger car with new damage to its front end, to please call state police, as well.

State Police is also still awaiting a positive identification of the male subject. There is a tentative ID on the man, but the VSP will not confirm nor release a name until final word is received from the Medical Examiner and then next of kin is officially notified.
