Secretarys Sand Road bridge to close for deck work

road work transportationRoute 717 (Secretarys Sand Road) in Albemarle County will be closed to through traffic March 25-29 while crews replace the timber deck on the bridge over Beaver Branch.

The road will be closed about 0.8-mile from Route 712 (Plank Road). The bridge will reopen to traffic the afternoon of March 29.

Access will be maintained to all commercial and private entrances off Route 717 on both sides of the bridge, but traffic will not be able to travel across the bridge.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.
