RMH to celebrate 100 years of compassionate care with community celebration on Sept. 30

Contributors

RMH will celebrate 100 years of service to the community with a special event to be held 2-4 p.m. September 30 at the RMH hospital and health campus.

The celebration will include history displays and exhibits; a ceremony featuring guest speakers, a historical reading and special music; and light refreshments.

This free event is open to the public. No advanced registration is required.

RMH opened its doors to patients on Oct. 1, 1912 and was the first hospital in the Shenandoah Valley.

A generous posthumous donation from Harrisonburg resident and businessman William G. Leake helped purchase the land on which the original hospital was built.
