United States Army Recruiting Command welcomed Richmond Recruiting Battalion’s new commander at a change of command ceremony June 22 at Maymont Park’s Stone Barn.
Lt. Col. Andrew E. Burgess assumed command from Lt. Col. Travis E. McCrackine, who served as battalion commander since 2016. Col. Dina Wandler, commander of 1st Recruiting Brigade, was the speaker for the ceremony.
Wandler recognized McCrackine’s accomplishment of becoming the number one ranked battalion in all of USAREC and on looking forward to a continuing trend with Burgess whose last assignment was as a liaison to Congress with U.S. Special Operations Command in Washington, D.C.

Our Army Soldiers and Civilians will continue to serve our Nation with pride, integrity, and commitment towards recruiting the best talent from throughout Virginia and West Virginia.
