Virginia tailback Cedric Peerman turns the corner for what would become a 79-yard first-quarter touchdown Saturday against East Carolina. Peerman ran for 173 yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns in the 35-20 Virginia win.

Kevin Ogletree tiptoes the sidelines for a first-down catch. Ogletree had four catches for 65 yards and a 30-yard second-quarter touchdown.

Wideout Maurice Covington catches the ball in traffic. Covington had four catches for 49 yards.

You could say that John Phillips was open on a fourth-quarter fake field goal that went for a touchdown and put the game away. Phillips had six catches for 47 yards and that touchdown reception.

Virginia quarterback Marc Verica overcome a shaky first quarter (two interceptions) to finish 25-for-32 passing for 216 yards and a touchdown.

The pressure is off UVa. coach Al Groh.
