New exhibit opens Friday at Staunton Augusta Art Center

butterfly feeding 2015In recognition of National Mental Health Month, the Staunton Augusta Art Center announces the opening of a new exhibit, Art: Recovery through the Seasons, works by consumers of mental health services. 

The opening reception will be held Friday, May 1, 6-8pm, in the second floor gallery/lecture hall of the RR Smith Center for History and Art at 20 S. New Street in historic downtown Staunton across from the public parking garage.  The exhibition is a collaboration among Western State Hospital, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Mental Health America of Augusta, and the Staunton Augusta Art Center.

The exhibit will be up through May 28 and may be accessed most days 10am-5pm Monday-Friday and 10am-4pm Saturday.  There is no cost to attend the reception or to view the exhibit and everyone is welcome.
