An Augusta County mother who lost a son in the war in Iraq shares her experience meeting with then-U.S. Sen. George Allen in the immediate aftermath in a new TV ad for the Allen Senate campaign.

“George Allen cared enough to reach out as father and husband to a grieving mother, committed to carrying on my son’s legacy with leadership and strength.” said Rhonda Winfield of Stuarts Draft, whose son, Stuart Hall graduate Jason Redifer, lost his life in Iraq in 2005.

“I saw in George Allen a public servant whose leadership is not just for what others see, but who he is person to person,” Winfield said.

The 60-second ad will run in markets statewide.
