A group will mark the public launch on Friday of a campaign to recruit new people to move to Staunton.
The Move to Staunton Campaign public launch event is set for Friday from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Ox Eye Vineyards Tasting Room, 44 Middlebrook Ave, Staunton.
The event will feature a live demo of the new movetostaunton.us website featuring stories of people who’ve already made the move to Staunton plus a chance for attendees to add their own stories.
Complimentary food from the Stonewall Jackson Hotel. Wine for purchase from Ox Eye. Live music. The event is free and open to the public.
Attracting new residents with portable income can be a way for a small city like Staunton to create jobs, encourage new businesses, raise home values, keep taxes low and support enrollment in public schools. With its historic architecture and walkable downtown boasting nationally renowned offerings in the arts and culture, Staunton already attracts both telecommuters and retirees, especially from expensive big cities, seeking an affordable, walkable community with a high quality of life.
The goal of the new Move to Staunton Campaign is to recruit even more people with portable income to relocate to Staunton.
