Amherst County:
Route 29 – Crew will maintain/repair pavement messages.
Route 29 Bus– Shoulder widening/rumble strips/guardrail upgrades. Lane closures likely.
Route 29 Bus –Replace median barrier. Lane closures. Est. comp. – April 2019.
Appomattox County:
Route 460 E, Appomattox Bypass –Right lane closure with 11’ travel lane and concrete barrier in place during project including overlay; expect delays. Changes in traffic pattern, ramp closures and detours will occur. Signs and message boards will alert motorists. Est. comp. Fall 2018.
Route 663 over Bent Creek (611-616) – Road closed for bridge deck replacement and repairs. Detour via 616, 615, and 26.
Route 705 over Rough Creek (632-633) – Road closed 9/24-10/26 for culvert replacement. Detour via Routes 632, 634, 460, and 633.
Buckingham County:
Route 20 (Rt. 15- James River Bridge, Albemarle) – Pavement widening, rumble strips, guardrail replacement/upgrades & paving through summer. Flaggers/pilot vehicles in use.
Route 633, Andersonville AHQ – Crew will work shoulders.
Route 639 (at 633 intersections) – Closed 7/30-10/19 for bridge replacement. Detour: 633 & 639.
Andersonville AHQ – Crew will mow at various locations.
Dillwyn AHQ – Crew will clean roadside debris.
Various – Crews will work surfaces and respond to customer concerns.
Campbell County:
Routes 24 and 501 – Crew will paint and retrace markings.
Route 24 @ 646 – Construction of roundabout & other improvements. Truck traffic over 44 ft restricted. Signage and traffic control in place.
Route 29 – Guardrail upgrades will take place at various locations.
Route 29/460 – Crew will work on ramp lights.
Route 711 over NS Railroad – Bridge and approach work will take place.
Route 737 over tributary Falling River (651-656) – Road closed 7/30-mid-September for culvert replacement. Detour via Routes 651, 24 and 656.
Routes 842, Greenwell Ct & 1532, Jefferson Dr – Closed due to damage from flooding. Alternate routes available.
Charlotte County:
Route 360, Craftons Gate AHQ – Crew will install turn lanes at Heartland Industrial Park.
Route 608, Craftons Gate AHQ – Crew will work on safety project.
Craftons Gate AHQ – Crew will boom axe.
Various – Crews will mow, work surfaces and respond to customer concerns.
Cumberland County:
Various – Crew will clean debris, cut brush, mow, work surfaces/shoulders/ditches and respond to customer concerns.
Halifax County:
Routes 58 & 360 – Crew will work on signage.
Bethel AHQ – Crew will boom axe and work surfaces on secondary routes.
Volens AHQ – Crew will work surfaces. Various–Crews will mow and respond to customer requests.
Lynchburg:
Liberty Mtn Dr – Ramp to 460 E closed for roundabout project.
Odd Fellows to US 29 Exp. –Completing paving, entrances, and utility work associated with road construction. Temporary lane closures may occur. Bridge over RR closed for approximately 1 yr beginning October 3, tentatively.
Nelson County:
Route 654 (657 – 661) – Daily lane closures will take place through September 21 for construction.
Pittsylvania County:
Route 607 over Little Straightstone Creek – Structure posted at 11 tons.
Route 666 over Elkhorn Creek (1051-680) – Road closed 7/30-mid-October for bridge replacement. Detour via Routes 680, 686, and 640.
Route 697 over Johns Run Creek (57-698) – Road closed 10/22-11/21 for bridge replacement. Detour via routes 57, 729, and 698.
Route 745 over stream (863-719) – Road closed 10/15-11/16 for culvert replacement. Detour via 863, 744 and 719.
Route 751 over Reddies Creek (40-752) – Road closed 9/10-10/19 for bridge replacement. Detour via 40 and 626.
Route 760 over Georges Creek (1302-790) – Road closed 10/9-11/2 for bridge superstructure replacement. Detour via 790, 935, 40 and 1302.
Route 795 over Pale Bridge Creek (797-649) – Road closed until further notice due to culvert failure. Detour via 797 to 649 and back to 795.
Route 817, Rondo AHQ – Crew will work Rural Rustic project.
Gretna and Rondo AHQa – Crews will clean roadsides
Various –Crews will boom axe, mow, work surfaces and/or ditches and respond to customers.
Prince Edward County:
Route 360 –Milling/paving operations. Est. comp. summer 2018.
Route 460 – Crew will perform maintenance and address work orders on signs.
Various – Crew will mow, cut brush, remove debris, work surfaces and respond to customer concerns.
District-wide activities:
Bridge maintenance – Crews will perform maintenance on bridges/other structures.
Guardrail maintenance – Crews will perform maintenance on guardrails.
Line painting/pavement marking – Crews will address work orders/requests.
