Why I am voting for Donald Smith for Augusta County sheriff: I’ve known Donald for about 25 years. He and his family are some of the nicest, most caring and giving people I’ve ever had in my life. He is an honest man with good values. He cares about people, his family and his community.
In 2013 I was hospitalized with respiratory failure. My husband was doing everything, being mommy and daddy to our then 3-year-old kids. His duties included buying groceries, etc. When Donald found out that we needed meat in the freezer, he graciously and very generously gave us a half a beef that year and filled up our freezer. He is the type of person that when he sees a need, he wants to be the one to help.
Personally, I believe he is the man for the job. He will be the people’s sheriff and he will do all that he can to keep this community, his community, safe.
