A brief early-morning closure is scheduled on July 15 from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. for the Interstate 81 southbound off-ramp at exit 283 (Woodstock) in Shenandoah County. The off-ramp closure is for paving operations. The southbound on-ramp at exit 283 will remain open.
Southbound I-81 motorists can access exit 283 by continuing south to exit 279 (Edinburg) and then following northbound I-81 back to exit 283. Signs and variable message boards will direct drivers on the detour route.
Nightly single-lane closures will continue on I-81 southbound from mile marker 286 to 282. Crews will be milling, paving and applying pavement marking. Work is the weeks of July 11 and July 18, Monday to Friday, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following mornings. The estimated completion date is July 22.
All work is weather permitting.
